CRIPPS MOVES INTO NEW OFFICE
Law firm Cripps has moved into its new office headquarters in Tunbridge Wells , the first substantial office building to have been built in the town for more than 25 years .
The 40,000 sq ft state of the art building , which is on the site of the former Kent & Sussex Hospital , was built by Berkeley Homes as part of its major Royal Wells Park development and will be occupied by around 300 staff over four floors .
The firm is one of the largest employers in the town and had been looking for new offices for over ten years . “ Tunbridge Wells has been home to Cripps since the firm was founded in 1852 and we were determined to remain here , but the problem was finding somewhere large enough in the town centre ,” said managing partner Gavin Tyler .
“ This is a major step in the firm ’ s history and the length of our office search is a statement of our commitment to the local community .”
OLD DAIRY BREWERY WINS FOUR MAJOR BEER AWARDS
Four major beer awards , three new tanks to meet growing demand and the appointment of two additional brewers have rounded off an exceptional year for The Old Dairy Brewery in Tenterden .
The brewery enjoyed success at this year ’ s CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Award with an overall Silver Medal for its 6 % winter ale , ‘ Snow Top ’. Noted for its delicious fruitcake and marmalade flavours , topped off with spicy hoppy notes , the beer also won a Gold Medal at CAMRA ’ s London and South East Area Champion Beer of Britain competition and another Gold Medal at the CAMRA Winter Beer Competition . Meanwhile ‘ Dark Side of the Moo ’, the brewery ’ s 7 % Imperial Porter , also won a Gold Medal for packaged beer at this year ’ s SIBA BeerX awards . Demand for these two outstanding beers , as well as Old Dairy ’ s core range – ‘ Red Top ’ ( 3.8 % Best Bitter ), ‘ Gold Top ’ ( 4.3 % Pale Ale ), ‘ Blue Top ’ ( 4.8 % IPA ) and ‘ Silver Top ’ ( 4.5 % Cream Stout ) – is extremely strong in cask , bottled and keg formats .
Chairman John Roberts said : “ It has been an amazing year for Old Dairy , and winning such an array of prestigious industry awards is testament to the skill of our brewing team and the excellent quality and consistency of the great beer we brew .”
Businesswoman Dawn Cutler ( 51 ) and her fashion student daughter Emilie ( 20 ) have launched The Posh Rock , a blog that aims to inspire women to wear what they want , not what they deem ‘ age appropriate ’.
Tired of worrying about whether she ‘ can still get away with it ’ when trying on clothes , Dawn has launched The Posh Rock to share her own experiences of fashion and beauty in the hope that it will give other women the confidence to go for it !
The blog will contain a mixture of fashion , beauty and lifestyle pieces from Dawn , a lifelong fashion fan . It will also feature hints and tips from Emilie who is on the frontline of fashion as she studies for her Fashion BA Hons degree at Edinburgh University .
Dawn says : “ Why are we always asking ourselves whether it ’ s ok to wear certain clothes ? Is it pressure from society or pressure from ourselves ? Ultimately , I think it comes down to selfconfidence and sometimes we need the people around us to give us a lift . I want The Posh Rock to be that confidence boost .
