BUSINESSPROFILE KENT BUSINESS PROFILE: THIS MONTH, insideKENT INTERVIEWS Jo Alsop of The Stove Hub Tell us a bit about The Stove Hub… The Stove Hub is part of The Heating Hub, a company founded eight years ago to provide domestic and commercial heating services. As its stoves business was growing each year, the firm decided to set up its own dedicated team and its own website. It is extending its showroom in King Street, Rochester, so it can expand its range of high-end modern stoves and feature gas fires. We want to open up the process of installing a stove and offer long-term assistance when running it and looking after it. As well as our ever-popular guides to stove costs, stove installation and stove quality, we are continually adding new guides; for example, stoves in modern homes, stove maintenance and smoke control areas. What sets you apart from your competitors? We are the exclusive local retailer for a range of mid-high-end stoves from Jotul, Charnwood, Scan, Nestor Martin and Hwam. Via these manufacturers we offer a complete range of styles from small and pretty to large and strikingly modern. We also offer a range of finance packages to help our customers spread the cost of their stove over 1-10 years. We offer a full package of works, including all associated building works. 186 You have a beautiful showroom but can you buy online as well? Where do you see the Stove Hub in five years’ time? Our stoves are not available to buy online. Our suppliers only sell through a network of showrooms so that their customers are given comprehensive and accurate advice about buying a stove. Customers can also return to us with warranty matters. We would like to open a second branch offering the same great range of stoves, highly competent, in house installers and great customer service. What are your best selling products? Charnwood are our biggest seller. They offer well-built stoves in clean, modern designs in a range of eight colours. However, we think it is important to offer a full range of stoves, some we may only sell one or two a year, but we want to ensure we offer something for all decors and tastes.
