Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market
18th November – 20th December
Just the name of this market sounds Christmassy!
For those who want to experience the most
traditional of Christmases, Winchester is your
destination. Over 350,000 visitors come to this
particular market each year with the beautiful
Winchester Cathedral at its heart. There are stalls
within the cathedral and in the grounds around,
and each of the stallholders (over 100 of them)
are chosen individually by the cathedral’s own
Christmas market team. This ensures that only
the very best products and services are to be
found here. As well as the amazing setting and
great stalls, there is a much-loved ice rink too.
Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre
24th-27th November
Think Christmas in the UK, and it’s like the
Victorians will come to mind. They were the ones
who brought Christmas as we know it to the
nation, so the Victorian themed Christmas fair in
Worcester is a wonderful way to imagine what
Christmas shopping might have been like during
that period. Over 100 stalls plus a variety of
fantastically fun sideshows will be on hand to
make this a most memorable Christmas shopping
trip. Expect to see Victorian street urchins,
chimney sweeps and 19th century ladies and
gents milling around to really set the scene!
Winter Fair in Ardingly
3rd-4th December
The Winter Fair at the South of England
Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, is a full
on family event. There is a magnificent Santa’s
grotto where the little ones have the opportunity
to meet not only the big man himself, but his
reindeer too. As well as this, you can watch
wrapping, cooking and wreath making demos,
enjoy puppet shows and other children’s
entertainment, choose from a wide selection of
Christmas trees, Taste artisan and street food,
and discover a wealth of different gifts to give
this Christmas.
Salisbury Christmas Market
24th N ovember – 18th December
Salisbury’s beautiful Guildhall building is the
backdrop to this lovely market. There will be over
100 exhibitors for 2016, and they will all have
their wares to sell from gorgeous wooden huts
that epitomise the Christmas market experience.
Most of the goods on sale will have been made
in Britain, and that includes designer crafts,
unusual gifts, and unique Christmas decorations.
But never fear – the most traditional of Christmas
market fare will be on offer to keep you sustained
during your shopping expedition. It includes
gluhwein, lebkuchen and bratwurst.
Glasgow Christmas Continental Market
11th November – 22nd December
If you want a true taste of Europe but don’t want
to travel too far afield, Glasgow’s Continental

for. The market takes place in stunning St Enoch
Square every day from 11th November until 22nd
December. Traders come to this market from
across the globe to sell their goods, so you can
find a wide range of different products, food and
drink from places such as France, Italy, Germany,
Spain, Russia and many other places besides.
There is even a ‘gluhwien house’ at this market
where you can sample different takes on this
spicy Christmas drink from around the world.
