Finberry Primary School
Finberry Primary School is now firmly established having opened last
September in temporary accommodation in the refurbished Ashford South
Community Primary School.

Supported by The Stour Academy Trust, a leading
Multi-Academy Trust in Kent, Finberry has already
demonstrated its ability to provide a high standard
of education, with the majority of children already
exceeding national standards in reading and high
levels of success in Writing and Maths alongside
an exciting and engaging curriculum.
Work has already started on the brand new,
state of the art building that is expected to be
complete for September 2017. Headteacher Mrs
Jenny Bailey, said: “Our community is beginning
to grow and we are delighted with the news from
the Finberry development.”

With a flourishing community of new homes at
its doorstep, Finberry Primary School aims to
serve its primary purpose of supporting the
development of the new community in Finberry.
The new site will consist of a two-storey building
with 14 class bases, including a BESN unit for
pupils who have greater difficulty learning, car
parking, pick up and drop off bays, play areas
and a grass playing field with hard and soft
landscaping.
Finberry Primary School is passionate about
maintaining high standards within the context of
a skill-based curriculum. It is not a question of
creativity or standards, but both. Covering the
national curriculum through a topic-based, cross-

curricular approach (IPC), the school has a strong
emphasis on incorporating reading, writing,
communication and numeracy at every
opportunity. Beyond the classroom, children also
enjoy an exciting array of school trips linked to
their topic and parents are invited into school at
regular intervals to discuss and experience their
child’s learning.
The school is holding an open evening on
13th October where parents with children due
to start in September 2017 are invited to
experience how Finberry will bring learning to life.
