Jeeps are part of our culture and language , and when you come face to face with the latest 2016 counterpart , the Grand Cherokee Overland , you have no doubt why .
The Cherokee is a ‘ go large ’ sort of car . It is enormous . Given its American heritage , you can see straight away that everything is done properly , and it exudes quality ; in fact you can sense the pride emanating from its fearsome radiator grilles .
But far from being showy and grandiose , the Jeep looks elegant , stylish and powerful from the outset , qualities that are echoed throughout its entire design , and that are underlined by the car ' s performance when driven . Sitting on beautiful 20-inch alloy wheels , it boasts a beautifully sculpted , rugged body , which manages to look incredibly sporty and very aesthetically pleasing . Unlike many of its peers , the Jeep doesn ' t seem to have any bad sides – it looks fantastic from all angles . I particular liked the look and feel of the bi-xenon headlamps , which manage to be big enough to do the job , but don ' t overwhelm the front of the car by being too large .
Inside the Jeep ( using your keyless “ enter N go ” of course ), you immediately fall in love with the gigantic armchair-like seats , which are so comfy you just want to get in and have a little rest , even when you have nowhere to drive to . The dashboard boasts an 8.4-inch Uconnect TFT display , and this provides you with a wealth of information and entertainment . The leathertrimmed dashboard looks sumptuous , and backed up by other features such as electric seats , parking / reversing cameras and panoramic sunroof , you are left with no doubt that you are surrounded by nothing but the very best of luxury . And , there ’ s a lot of boot space . I mean , a lot .
