HEALTH+WELLNESS
eat your way
to optimum health
No matter what size or shape our bodies are, vitamins and minerals are essential
for our general wellbeing. They are part of what fuels us, and our bodies need
them to maintain their momentum. We have difficulty producing all the nutrients
we need for day-to-day life, which means we have to top them up, and the
best, most natural way to do that is to eat them.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A (or beta-carotene) boosts the immune system and metabolism,
and gives you healthy skin. It is also proven to aid vision. Without enough
vitamin A, your vision will be affected, especially at night. Prolonged lack
of vitamin A can lead to blindness. Another issue is a compromised immune
system, as well as dry skin. Bone growth can be affected too.
Vitamin B1 – B12
All the B vitamins do something different, and we need each one of them
to keep in tip-top condition. B1 keeps the heart healthy, B2 is great for
metabolising fats, B3 is good for healthy looking skin. Without enough
vitamin B in our lives we would be very poorly indeed, suffering with internal
organ failure, insulin absorption issues, cramps, numbness and dermatitis
as well as many other problems.
Food sources: Carrots, eggs, fish, liver, leafy greens, milk, and plenty of
orange or yellow coloured fruits.
Food sources: B vitamins are found in the majority of fruits, veg and
meat including cauliflower, potatoes, whole grains, chicken, pork, eggs,
almonds, kidneys, leafy greens, tomatoes, fish, mushrooms and much,
much more.
