UPCOMING EVENTS AT
Astor’s Garden Legacy Exhibition
Opens June 8th
Hever Castle
Hever’s Home Front
June 25th & 26th
Hever Castle in Kent, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, has curated a
new permanent exhibition tracing the history of the award-winning gardens
from Tudor times to the present day. Astor’s Garden Legacy celebrates the
creation of Hever Castle’s gardens by American multi-millionaire, William
Waldorf Astor at the turn of the 20th century and their ongoing restoration
and regeneration.
Located in a refurbished 19th-century potting shed, it fuses archive
imagery and informative display panels with cutting edge technology to
bring the gardens’ history vividly to life. Garden lovers will unearth fascinating
facts about Astor’s ‘grand design’, and an interactive activity bench featuring
a maze puzzle and wooden topiary peg jigsaw will keep children amused.
Step back to the 1940s as reenactors show what it would
have been like to live and work
in the country during the
Second World War when the
Battle of Britain was fought
overhead. Visit the tea dance
tent where traditional afternoon
tea will be served alongside
swing dance demonstrations
with classes for all ages.
Browse vintage stalls and come
along in vintage dress to really
enter the spirit of the era.
Father’s Day Super Cars
June 19th
Say thank you to dad this Father’s Day
and spoil him with a memorable day
out and meal at Hever Castle & Gardens.
In partnership with John Surtees and
the Henry Surtees Foundation and
supported by the Kent area group of the Ferrari Owners Club of Great
Britain, Hever Castle presents a selection of Ferraris, classic motors and
motorbikes. Children can create a card to give to dad in free craft workshops.
And for an extra special day, celebrate with a delicious lunch or afternoon
tea in the elegant Guthrie Pavilion (pre-booking is essential by 14th June).
Hever in Bloom
