Avengers: Age of Ultron is set in the Marvel universe, and is the followup to the immensely popular Avengers Assemble (2012). Iron Man,
aka Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr), wants to use artificial intelligence
to start a peacekeeping program. Unfortunately, the technology becomes
sentient, and things take a turn for the worse. Captain America (Chris
Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor
(Chris Hemsworth) and Hawkeye (Clint Barton) must save the planet.
The Marvel Studios production visited Dover Castle in June 2014 for
a week to film several action sequences and local runners were involved
to ensure a smooth shoot. Dover Castle was used as part of the interior
for the Hydra Outpost in Sovokia and you may also be able to spot
the entrance to the wartime tunnels that is used as a secret entrance.
The Kent Film Office was established in 2006 as an economic development initiative of Kent County Council. The Kent
Film Office generates inward investment from the film and broadcast industries into the Kent economy. Since its launch,
the Film Office has managed to secure all of the aforementioned high profile productions and more, all of which
benefited many local businesses, communities and attractions. www.kentfilmoffice.co.uk
