Now in its seventh edition, the 2016 UK and Ireland leg of the Banff World Tour will be the largest Tour to date with more than 50,000 adventure lovers expected to gather together indoors to celebrate the outdoors with 80 screenings and 52 tour locations right across the UK and Ireland. With her father the Duke banished and in exile, Rosalind and her cousin Celia leave their lives in the court behind them and journey into the Forest of Arden. There, released from convention, Rosalind experiences the liberating rush of transformation. Disguising herself as a boy, she embraces a different way of living and falls spectacularly in love. 7pm. Inspiration for Wylie’s bold and large-scale paintings take ranges from early Renaissance painting and contemporary Egyptian Hajj painting and remembered images from films. Rose Wylie was born in Kent, where she still lives and works. She studied at Folkestone and Dover School of Art (1952-6) and the Royal College of Art, London (1979-81) and now, in her early eighties, is enjoying renewed interest in her work in the UK and internationally. In 2010, Wylie was described by Germaine Greer as ‘Britain’s hottest new artist’. The exhibition is supported by Union Gallery. From 10am.
