The Environ Facial at

Visible results, anti-aging, and a tailored skin treatment regime? It’s time to find out
more – introducing the Environ Facial at Pinkies Salon, Whitstable. BY SAMANTHA G

Despite being small in stature it’s hard to miss
the vivid pink décor that heralded my arrival at
Pinkies – the Whitstable-based salon of awardwinning make-up artist, Kelli Waldock’s. Small
but perfectly formed and with one of the most
genuinely enthusiastic welcomes ever, Kelli and
her team at Pinkies strive to not only bring the
best of all things beauty to their East Kent clientele,
but to do so in the most comfortable and
welcoming of surroundings.
Keen to get a head start on a new year
beauty regime, the reason for my visit this time
was to try out the brand spanking new addition
to the salon: the Environ Facial. I was looking
forward to this opportunity to find out about the
technique and products that have clearly been
making waves across the industry.
Developed by a cosmetic surgeon, the
Environ range was specifically developed to
provide visible results, targeting numerous skin
conditions as well as being anti-aging, repairing
damaged skin as well as increasing collagen and
elastin production – bring it on!
Settled into the reception area I was
immediately handed a skin questionnaire,
checking everything from my own skin concerns,
allergies and scarring to favourite foods and
naughty vices. As Kelli explained, the start of any
effective treatment begins with understanding
each individual client’s needs, expectations and
regimes. Once analysed, the Environ products
can be carefully tailored into a targeted individual
treatment schedule, combining in-salon
treatments with at-home products.

So what also makes Environ unique? Aside
from the high doses of absorbable fresh Vitamin
A and antioxidant Vitamin C, E and beta carotene?
It’s that the products have been developed on
a ‘step-up’ system meaning that there are varying
intensities of the active ingredients in each level.
This means you can start at Level 1, start to see
results, adapt to the product and then move up
the scale to start the next level of intensity – all
the while seeing visible reductions in pigmentation
and fine lines as well as protecting your skin
against further damage.
This treatment is all about science-based,
results-driven effectiveness, so with my jewellery
removed (so as to not interfere with the current!)
and electronic pads applied to the lower back,
I was ready.
First up a thorough pre-cleanse, removing
all traces of day-to-day grime, before the Envrion
moisturiser was applied. At this stage the
ultrasonic wand uses lonto phoresis current and
sono phoresis sound waves to penetrate the
moisturiser ‘up to 4,400 times’ deeper into the
skin than a typical hands-on treatment. And it
has to be said this was all rather pleasant – a
slight vibration and tingle in certain areas although
some clients also see changes to light when the
wand is around the eye area.
And then my therapist uttered the words
“are you claustrophobic?” Erm – no? Good thing,
as it was time for the masque. “Are you happy
to cover eyes and mouth?” Aha – this is what all
the fuss and hype is about, as the Envrion masque
involves smearing a thick (albeit nutrient-rich)

dollop of goodness over my entire face, including
(as I was feeling brave and inquisitive) my eyes
and mouth. It takes a little getting used to and
certainly wouldn’t be for everyone, although you
can opt for the eye- and mouth-free application
too! After about 10 minutes or so the masque,
which has set to a plasticky type consistency, is
carefully removed, revealing with it my plumper,
super cleansed and thoroughly moisturised face.
Happy with just one treatment, imagine the
possibilities after using the system at home and
following a longer regime!
Perfect for combating winter dryness,
preventing summer dehydration, as a short term
special occasion boost (wedding prep anyone?)
and of course as a long-term anti-aging, skin
repairing, wonder regime, the Environ Facial and
its step-up product range are now available to
all clients at Pinkies.
