CHARITY Kent Charity Profiles cont. Foal Farm www.foalfarm.org.uk How do you receive your funding? Everything comes from people like you, from the general public. Who do you help? Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre is a registered charity based at Biggin Hill in Kent. Its aim is to take in as many sick, distressed and unwanted animals as possible, and restore them to health and happiness. The animals are kept on a 26-acre farm where they are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and given any other medical assistance necessary. Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals are then placed in secure and loving vetted homes. Do you have any upcoming events? Lots. Our next is the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7th November at the Spitfire Centre, Biggin Hill, Kent TN16 3LB. We also have a number of rummage sales coming up; the next one of those is on 29th November. And we’ve got plenty already arranged for 2016, including quiz nights, Bunny Sunday, outdoor cinema evenings, dog agility competitions, the Country Festival Day, and a fabulous Dickensian evening. How can people help? One way in which you can help and be a part of Foal Farm is to become a member. Our membership runs from February to February and we have four membership packages to choose from. And of course, adopting one, or some, of our animals is always a great way to help. What services do you provide? On the 1st August 1960, 20 people met in a disused kitchen and agreed to form a rescue centre called Friends of Animals League (FOAL), with the simple aim of saving as many animals as possible; to care for them until fit and well, and then place them in good permanent homes. Since then, we have moved to new, much larger premises, and can now take in many more unwanted and abandoned animals to be rehomed. 153
