180-HOLE CHALLENGE
CHILDREN’S RECIPES MAKE CUT
FOR CHARITY COOKBOOK
On 16th July 2015,
four golfers will
compete against the
clock to try to
complete 10 rounds
of golf in a day. The
golf will start at first
light around 4.30am,
and the format will be Texas Scramble with the aim to
score as low as possible for all 10 rounds. The golf will be
rotated between the two courses at Dale Hill, The Ian
Woosnam course, designed by the former Ryder Cup
Captain and US Masters winner, Mr Ian Woosnam; and
the Dale Hill course.
Dozens of budding young chefs have had
their recipes chosen for a charity cookbook.

The Contract Dining Company ran a
competition throughout the schools in Kent,
which it caters for. It received hundreds of
entries from across the county and eventually
chose 41 of them to go in The Children’s
Choice Cook Book – one from each school.
Contract Dining Company operations
director, Tracey Spellman, said: “It’s taken
about six months from beginning to end so
it’s been hard work but it was great fun.
The event will raise money for Kent Sussex and Surrey Air
Ambulance. The charity exists to relieve sick and injured
people in South East England and surrounding areas by
providing a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS)
and Air Ambulance Service for the benefit of the community.
The team at Dale Hill consists of John Tolliday, director of
golf and PGA professional; Carl Rundgren, general
manager; Rosie Langley, PGA registered assistant; and
Sam Durling, shop assistant.
So how can you get involved? The team is looking for
sponsorship, either by a straight donation or by sponsoring
how many birdies it will make during the day. A Just Giving

enough to all the very talented school
children who put forward their delicious
recipe ideas.

A total of 5,000 copies have been produced
and the company hopes to sell them all for
£1 to raise £5,000 for Demelza Hospice
Care for Children.
At Loose Primary School in Maidstone, the
book was officially launched on Thursday
4th June and all the children whose recipes
