Small Eyes (Folkestone) Kings Wood (Challock) Living on the Kent coast – or even just visiting for a short while – there is something no one can ignore, and that’s seagulls. Love them or loathe them, they are a ubiquitous feature of the landscape, and whether you think they are beautiful birds or pungent pests, they are here to stay. Leigh Mulley, an artist from Folkestone, has a soft spot for seagulls, and wanted others to admire them the way she does, which is why she painted an enormous mural of one on the outside back wall of the Metronome Theatre, where it can most easily be seen from the car park there. As with all the best art, this has created quite the talking point in the town!
