Moroccan
Moroccan interior design is characterised by
arched doorways, mosaics, carvings, and vibrant,
colourful fabrics. You don’t have to call the
builders in to get this style in your own home
though – you can work with what you have and
create your own homegrown version of this
stunning décor.
The colours you use in a Moroccan-inspired
home should be warm and earthy – think
terracotta reds, deep aubergines, and rich sunset
hues. Silver and jade are also popular colours
to use. If, as gorgeous as it is, this is a little dark
for the room you have in mind, you can use a
beige or wheat background and incorporate

wall hangings, curtains, and rugs to complete
the look.
Wrought iron furniture is also an ideal addition;
a look that can be enhanced by adding fabrics
that are bright and eye catching. The furniture
should also be low to the ground if possible,
especially any seating you might want to have
in the room.
For accessories, choose large hanging pendant
lights, shutters or partitions, and perhaps even
some woven tapestries. Tiles on walls or floors
complete the look – the brighter, the better.
