• FOLLOW KAT THROUGH 2015 AS SHE JUGGLES FAMILY, FASHION, FRIENDS AND STAYING FABULOUS WITH TWO KIDS UNDER 10! • I quite like February. It’s a bit of an odd month really, but I like it. I feel like I’ve finally gotten over the January blues and it’s suc h a short month, that the end of winter is almost in sight...almost! Kat talk s Day, 50 Valentine’s Shade half ter s and m I also love that we have a half term. It feels like Jake (my six-year-old) only just went back to school and soon he’s going to be off again for a week, which is fab – and exhausting. I think we’re actually quite lucky with where we live too as we’re never stuck for ideas to keep him entertained, even if the weather’s not great. I was chatting to my sister the other morning and she said that near where she is, in Clapham, there’s not much to do during the holidays. She’s going to come and stay with us for a couple of days when the kids are off, so I've said we'll head to Bluewater's adventure golf at Pirate Cove.' The kids love it there and she and I hardly need an excuse to shop! I took Jake and Ella (my three-year-old) over the Christmas holidays when Dom’s parents were with us, and we all had so much fun. Dom (my husband) got so competitive; he’s such a big kid that I’m certain he had just as much fun as Jake. If you want to tire them out, that’s certainly the place to do it. Mine were totally wiped out afterwards, and only perked up again when they’d been fed. We ate at the new place, Bill’s, and the food was amazing. It’s all really healthy and the kids got an ice cream each after their meal, which was a lovely touch and just the sugar rush they needed. Speaking of meals, I am dying to know where Dom has booked us into for Valentine’s Day (we’re not actually going out on the 14th as I’ve got a girls night instead: 50 Shades of Grey comes out and ever since we read the books, we promised each other we’d go and see it on release day!). Dom hates all the smushy Valentine’s stuff anyway, so he’s not too fussed. Last year we stayed in and cooked, but this year I insisted he book somewhere. We haven’t done ‘date night’ in ages, so it’ll be nice to go out kiddie-free, even if we do end up chatting about nothing other than the children! 'I've had my eyes on the most stunning Denai jacquard skirt dress from Ted Baker (£189), and I've decided to treat myself to it. I tried it on the other day and I know we women always say this, but it genuinely fits like it was made for me, so I feel it’s almost rude if I don’t buy it…! Oh also, funny story, when I was in Bluewater (supposedly shopping for Dom’s Valentine’s Day present but actually shopping for a sassy new outfit for myself!), I popped into the new Victoria’s Secret store and overheard THE funniest exchange between the shop assistant and some poor guy. He was after some new underwear for his girlfriend but had absolutely NO idea what size she was or what sort of thing she normally went for; the poor guy thought she could be any size between an 8 and a 14! Luckily, the sales assistant knew 126
