FOOD+DRINK LOCAL RESTAURANT PUTS MINSTER ON THE GASTRONOMIC MAP Matt Sworder (seated) at The Corner House It only opened a year ago, but The Corner House has been listed in both the 2015 Michelin Guide and the 2015 Waitrose Good Food Guide, putting the historic little village of Minster firmly on the East Kent gastronomic map. Young chef and patron, Matt Sworder, is already making a name for his seasonally inspired British dishes. He is passionate about modern British cuisine and his aim is to bring London-inspired dishes to this corner of Kent, using the best ingredients. “I find Kent a really inspiring place to cook. There is so much delicious, fresh produce on our doorstep and I’m creating dishes which make the most of what is available seasonally and locally.” The restaurant is set within three former 18th-century farm workers’ cottages, on Station Road.
