DAYSOUT Christmas Days Out in Kent Despite the darkness of the days and the coldness of the climate, there are some events that we will still go out for in the run up to Christmas simply because they are, indeed, Christmas-themed. It’s a wonderful and exciting thing to be able to enjoy a splash of Yuletide spirit on a day out – after all, that is how memories are made and family traditions are begun. Rochester Dickensian Christmas Lovelys’ Christmas Show 2014 // 22 Nov – 31 Dec Lovelys is an art gallery in Cliftonville, Margate. Each year local artists put together a fantastic Christmas-themed exhibition, and this year is no different. From paintings to ceramics to sculptures, there will be festive art available to gaze at (and buy) throughout the Christmas period. Bluewater’s Winter Wonderland // 27 Nov – 24 Dec There is so much to do at Bluewater already, but with the addition of the gorgeous Winter Wonderland, now you can do all your shopping and have fun in the process. There is a 6,000 square foot ice rink (suitable for beginners and pros alike), an exhilarating 40-metre snow slide, and a multitude of stalls, games, and amusements. It all takes place inside, so the weather won’t get in the way of a great day out too. Kent Life’s Christmas on the Home Front // 29-30 Nov This detailed re-enactment of Christmas in Kent during World War II is beautifully done. With vintage clothing and props, music from the era, and loads of information about how Christmas was handled during a time of fear (not to mention rationing), this is a very different and very worthwhile day out. As a bonus, Dotty’s Tearoom will be full of cakes and hot drinks to keep you sustained for the whole day. Kent Life's Christmas on the Home Front 100
