Why Kent's holiday parks really
are this year's hot spots
BRITAIN'S SIZZLING SPRING AND SUMMER HAVE PUT THE
HEAT ON SALES OF CARAVAN HOLIDAY HOMES AND LODGES
THIS YEAR, ACCORDING TO PARK HOLIDAYS UK.
Record numbers of families across Kent, says
the group, have taken the plunge, and committed
to an investment in their lifestyle that can be
enjoyed throughout the four seasons.
The company has 23 holiday parks in Devon and
South England, including five on the Kent coast,
to where holiday homeowners can escape at a
moment's notice.
It might just be the two of you, or – like many
owners – you can also use your holiday home to
bring the family closer together by choosing a
location near to where your children and
grandchildren live. Many mature holiday
homeowners also love being able to offer their
bolthole to their grown-up family members to
use for short breaks.
However, if it has been a little while since you
stepped inside a holiday caravan, prepare yourself
for a very pleasant surprise, for today's leisure
homes really are in the luxury class. They are
light, airy and spacious with two or three goodsize bedrooms and at least one bathroom. The
kitchen will be fitted out with all of the latest
appliances, and the generous dining and living
areas are – like the rest of the holiday home –
equipped and furnished to a high standard.
It's hard to imagine a more pleasant scene than
everyone eating a delicious meal around the table
as you discuss the highlights of the day, and the
plans for tomorrow. It could be a trip out to a
nearby beauty spot, historic town or visitor
attraction. Whichever you chose, your holiday
home will be just steps away from a whole host
of attractions that won't cost a penny extra.
Swimming pools, children's clubs, leisure centres,
adventure playgrounds and amusements are
there to enjoy all day. Moreover, in the evening,
there's family entertainment laid on with nightly
changing shows that feature superb professional
acts. These too, are free.
All of which might make you wonder just how
much a holiday caravan is likely to cost. After all,
the whole idea of a second home is something
we often associate exclusively with the big earners.
This is where the second surprise might well
come in. Throughout its 25-year history, Park
Holidays has built a strong reputation based on
155
value as well as quality. In 2014, following high
demand created by the year's lovely summer,
the company rolled out a number of incentives
aimed specifically at people who are new to
caravan holiday home ownership.
The offers include brand new caravan holiday
homes, fully equipped and furnished, from just
£8,995, plus low-deposit easy finance packages.
There is, of course, an annual pitch fee to pay
as well, but in 2014 and 2015, this cost has been
waived on many new models.
If you think that this all makes for very interesting
reading, then why not visit one or more of the
company's parks? There will be absolutely no
sales pressure, and friendly and professional staff
will be pleased to show you around, and introduce
you to other owners, if you wish.
