GO THE DISTANCE TO FIGHT HEART DISEASE
AT THE BHF’S BRANDS HATCH HALF MARATHON
Make your mark in the fight for every heartbeat
and join the British Heart Foundation (BHF) by
running 13.1 miles around one of the UK’s most
historic and spectacular sporting venues – the
Brands Hatch race circuit. Entries are now open
for the first ever BHF Brands Hatch Half Marathon,
which will take place on Sunday 1st March 2015.
Half Marathon is expected to attract 5,000 runners
to challenge themselves against some of
motorsports most iconic bends, turns and highspeed straights, while raising vital funds. The
event also offers a 10k route to cater for friends
and family members looking for their individual
challenge.
Alistair Hills, regional event organiser for the BHF,
said: “We’re very excited about this new addition
to the BHF Half Marathon Series. This event will
be a great opportunity for charity and club runners
alike to challenge themselves on a unique course.
“Coronary heart disease is not beaten yet – it
remains the single biggest killer in the UK. It is
responsible for almost 80,000 deaths each year
– that’s over 200 people dying every single day.
The BHF is calling for the people of London, Kent
and beyond to support the search for the
breakthrough that’s so desperately needed.
For one day, put aside your regular routine and
unite with the nation’s heart charity to fight back
against coronary heart disease, the UK’s single
biggest killer. The inaugural BHF Brands Hatch
“A BHF event is the perfect way to support the
nation’s heart charity, save lives and improve
heart health at the same time.”
The Half Marathon route is made up of two laps
of a specifically designed course that takes in
the full Grand Prix circuit, which is owned by
MotorSport Vision (MSV), as well as the rally
stage and surrounding tracks and paths, staying
completely and safely within the venue grounds.
Entry to the BHF Brands Hatch Half Marathon
is £26 for the Half Marathon and £19 for the 10k
run. Entry is not available on the day of the event,
so runners must register in advance at
www.bhf.org.uk/brandshatch or by calling
0845 130 8663.
All entry fees
contribute towards
the cost of the event,
meaning that all
sponsorship raised by
participants goes
towards funding the
BHF’s life-saving
work.

An uncompetitive event, the tour is intended as an opportunity for
you to drive your pre-1994 pride and joy through Kent's beautiful,
picturesque lanes and villages, while raising vital funds for local
charity, Demelza Hospice for Children. Younger interesting cars
will be allowed at the organisers’ discretion.
Although the day has been designed to allow for two people in
each car, extra persons may be carried for an additional fee. You
will be given an easy-to-follow road book to direct you along a
carefully designed route. There will also be stops for morning coffee
and lunch, before the route winds its way to the finish for a wellearned afternoon tea.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to
Demelza and you are invited to make a voluntary
donation with your entry. Last year, Blackpalfrey
Motor Club of Kent donated over £800, with hopes
to reach £1,000 this year. For more information,
