EDUCATION
IN ASSOCIATION WITH
Busy Times at the Duke of York’s
Royal Military School
Many people living in Kent do not realise that The
Duke of York’s Royal Military School now takes any
student aged 11 to 18 wishing to board, as they study
for their GCSE’s and A-Levels.
Graded 'Good' in all categories by Ofsted, its
students performed exceptionally well in their
GCSE exams last year, which put the school in
the top 100 non-selective state schools in the
country, as confirmed by David Laws MP in a
letter sent to the Executive Principal.
Parents looking for an affordable quality education
for their children can now take the opportunity
to apply. As a full state boarding school, your
child’s education is paid for by the state. You
will pay £3,665 per term (£10,995 per year) to
cover the boarding costs.
Duke of York's Royal Military School is extremely
proud of its military ethos and traditions, with
students enjoying ceremonial parades, a
Combined Cadet Force, and a variety of sports
and activities. Set in 150 acres of Kentish
countryside, the school is ideally located for quick
links to both London and Europe.

Its acclaimed student-based Military Band recently
played at Twickenham for the England/Argentina
international rugby match, plus it was invited to
play a fanfare at an important WW1
commemorative service in Folkestone, where it
featured on BBC Radio Kent. The Military Band
also played at the Menin Gate when a large
contingent from the school paid tribute to those
former Dukies who lost their lives in the First
World War, and whose names are present on
the gate.
The school’s £24.9 million building programme
will be complete in September 2014, complete
with a brand new sports hall, drama studio,
teaching blocks and sixth form boarding now
available.
