Portuguese Cork Oak now in Sevenoaks

With the aim of targeting the Eco-conscious market looking for a stylish, durable and sustainable
shop on Old School Walk, Sevenoaks.
We sell a range of Hand-crafted Portuguese Fashion and Lifestyle accessories including: Handbags,
Jewellery, Footwear, Purses, Wallets, Umbrellas and much more made from Cork, (the outer bark of the
Cork Oak - Quercus Suber L). The trees are not damaged and are never cut-down during the stripping,
(harvesting), process after which they begin re-generating and grow new bark.
The way in which the Cork bark is processed after being stripped produces a material that is extremely
pliable, (unlike pin boards and coasters which are brittle). – It is something which needs to be seen and
touched to be believed!
We see Cork as an excellent Eco-friendly alternative to leather; It is warm and silky-soft to the touch,
lightweight, water and stain resistant and can be cleaned using soap and water. It also has the
advantage of being sustainable, reusable, recyclable and biodegradable and the fact that it is naturally
anti-bacterial, anti-static and anti-allergenic has inspired us to recently introduce a range of Lifestyle
products including Bowls and Trivets as well as Yoga Mats and Blocks.
