welcome
Earlier this year, my husband and I decided we wanted to have more
camping holidays, so we bought a shedload of gear and booked a long
summer stay in France. In tow will be our three little boys, aged 1, 3 and
10, and four tonnes of camping equipment. Are we crazy? Yes. But at
least we’ll have the right kit! I’m very much looking forward to our
camping getaway, but can’t deny, I’m just as excited about the many
goings-on in Kent this summer.
spots (p59), or visit one of my very favourite places in Kent: Leeds Castle
(p96). If you have an adventurous side, try one of the many watersports
available in our lovely county, including kitesurfing, jet skiing, stand-up
paddle boarding, and even scuba diving (p108).
In June I had the opportunity to explore Groombridge Place - the perfect
location to snap my latest #KentSelfie. Based just outside Tunbridge
Wells, this gorgeous estate is part of the Seven Wonders of the Weald.
Not familiar with the Seven Wonders? It’s
definitely worth a look www.sevenwonders.org.uk.
July is absolutely jam-packed with events; there are just too many local
affairs to include all of them in our humble little magazine, but I hope
we’ve managed to highlight a selection of the most interesting and
exciting. I’m especially looking forward to the Kent County Show
(11th-13th), the Leeds Castle Open Air Classical Concert (12th), and
Create Festival (27th) - let’s just keep our fingers crossed for sunshine.
I’d love to see your own #KentSelfie please share with us on Twitter! We might
just choose a selection to put in our next
issue, so if you want to see your smiling
face in insideKENT, post your #KentSelfie
and tag us at @insideKENT.
I can’t believe how the months are flying by; we’re almost halfway to
Christmas already! I love Christmas (love even deserves to be in italics for
me), but I really can’t be thinking about that right now; Christmas has no
place in my summer schedule, no matter how much I love it. If Kent
weren’t so full of fabulous hot weather events and attractions, maybe I’d
be bored enough to start writing down my Christmas shopping lists, but I
have a feeling boredom won’t be part of my plans during the next few
months.
As always, we love to hear your
comments, so please get in touch at

follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest
and Instagram.

If nothing else, Kent has over 350 miles of coastline to explore, so get out
there and enjoy it! Stop off for a meal at one of my favourite coastal dining
