MACMILLAN AWARDS
ACCREDITATION TO
NUFFIELD HEALTH
TUNBRIDGE WELLS HOSPITAL
Nuffield Health
Tunbridge Wells has
recently gained the
Macmillan Quality
Environment Mark
(MQEM) for its
oncology services.
The Kent-based
hospital has offered
dedicated cancer
services to the local community for a number of years; therefore,
it was honoured to receive the award from admired charity,
Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan has understood the connection between
people’s wellbeing and cancer environments for many years.
It has been developing and investing in cancer facilities since
the 1970s, and today it is spending millions of pounds on
improving cancer environments across the UK.
One of the largest British charities, Macmillan understands
the difference in support that good facilities can make to those
diagnosed with cancer, so it believes it to be a critical area of
action if cancer services are to continually improve over the
forthcoming years.

MAJOR FOOD INDUSTRY AWARDS
TO RETURN TO
THE KENT EVENT CENTRE
The organisers of Kent’s biggest annual showcase for the food and drink industry have
confirmed they will return to the Kent Event Centre near Maidstone in 2015.
Produced in Kent champions the food and drink sector in the Garden of England and
its Taste of Kent Awards have become established as a major celebration of ‘the best
of the best’ in the county. The awards celebrated its 10th anniversary recently, and
the organisers staged the final at the Kent Event Centre for the first time as they
searched for a larger and more suitable venue.
Produced in Kent’s Stephanie Durling, said: “It makes complete sense to choose
the Kent Event Centre again.
“The flexibility of the venue means we can use our own caterer, while the location
and unlimited free parking means it is easy to access.
“We also truly appreciate the help and support of the staff at the Kent Event
Centre, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
Kent Event Centre manager, Alison Wallington, said: “We are delighted that
Produced in Kent has chosen to bring the Taste of Kent Awards back here. We are
passionate about this event and we look forward to hosting these prestigious awards
in 2015.”
Kent Event Centre is preparing for the opening of its new £1.5 million conference
building. The hall is 42 metres wide, 72 metres long, and can seat up to 4,000 people
in theatre style.
