NEWS Kyanna Hayes KSG CULTURAL CELEBRATION ANNOUNCES SECOND PLATFORM FOR YOUNGSTERS TO PROVE KENT’S GOT TALENT Herne Infant and Nursery School Dance Troupe Kent’s youngsters have been given a second platform to prove they have got talent, after the organisers of the highly prestigious, Kent School Games Cultural Celebration, announced that a brand new audition date will take place on Thursday 19th June at the Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells. The deadline for competitors to submit their three-minute filmed online entries, has also been extended to Friday 6th June, in a bid to give Kent’s young creative performing artists the best chance to make it to the second round of auditions at the Trinity. All entries must be submitted via the website, www.kentschoolgames.com. KENT SCHOOL GAMES SUCCESS CULMINATES IN SPECTACULAR FINALS DAY Successful auditioning artists on the 19th June will then go through to the Live Grand Final on Sunday 7th September at The Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, and will be in with a chance of winning the top three prizes of £1,000, £500 and £250. Already eight talented singers, bands, dancers, cheerleaders and comedians have made it through to the Finals, following the first auditions at The Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury, including talented singer/songwriter Kyanna Hayes. Meanwhile, finalists, Herne Infant and Nursery School Dance Troupe stole the show amongst the younger auditioning acts with their wonderful rendition of a number from the musical Matilda. KENT-BASED AUTHOR RELAUNCHES HISTORICAL THRILLER, DEAD MEN LIE More Rebus than Red Riding Hood, Canterbury-based author, David T Procter, uses his family heritage of the Romney Marsh and Rye to enhance his debut novel, Dead Men Lie. After seven months of competitive sporting excellence – involving 35,000 primary and secondary school children taking part in 35 key sporting events – the final hurdle is nearing ever closer. With dozens of top sporting locations across the county having participated to date, the hugely successful Kent School Games (organised by KCC’s Sport and Physical Activity Service, with the support of Sainsbury’s), will culminate with the most spectacular Finals Day of the entire competition on 25th June, at the University of Kent, Canterbury.
