NEWS KENT MAGICIAN ETIENNE PRADIER ENTERTAINS HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS There's no party quite like a royal party, so we're told by Kent resident and professional magician Etienne Pradier, who rubbed shoulders with none other than Prince Charles himself this winter. Invited to entertain at HRH's annual bash at St James' Palace, French illusionist Etienne – along with fellow magician Laura London – performed their unique repertoire of tricks at the Prince's glitzy party, much to the audience's delight. Etienne, who lives in Wye, is by no means new to the royal scene, as he recalls being first introduced to Prince Charles 12 years earlier at a party held by Peter and Catherine Kuhfeld, both renowned painters from Wye. He explains: “Laura and I were both punks in the 80s, and we were joking that we would never have thought we would be at a party with royalty back then. "But I’ve done it so many times now that I know a few of the people, and I always have a good time.” A uniquely skilled close-up table magician providing entertainment for corporate events, weddings and private parties in London and Kent, the immensely charismatic Etienne has twice been awarded by the Magic Circle and remains one of the UK's most successful magicians. He also runs Kent-based entertainment agency, Butterfly Trix. Represented by the agency, Laura London is one of the UK’s top female magicians, with a true specialism in sleight of hand card tricks. Both Etienne and Laura have performed on the ITV television show Penn & Teller: Fool Us. www.frenchmagician.co.uk www.butterflytrixagency.co.uk 15
