Formed in the 1970s, the Bully
Wee Band were known as
one of the finest acoustic folk
rock bands, having played all
over Europe and America.
With Ian Cutler on violin (Feast
of Fiddles), Fergus Feely on
mandocello and vocals
(Dolores Keane), Colin Reece
on guitar and vocals (Jim
Davidson), and Jim Yardley
on mandolin and vocals
(Corner Boys), this band are
proving that they are still a
force to be reckoned with in
the folk world.

Harrison, The Ghost
Train tells the tale of
a group of
mismatched
travellers that find themselves stranded overnight at a lonely rural railway
station. They soon learn of local superstition about a phantom train which
is said to travel these parts at dead of night, carrying ghosts from a longago train wreck in the area. In between the scary bits, comedian Arthur
Askey plays the gags with his Vaudeville style humour.

Manet's “The Execution of
Maximilian” and John Opie's
“Murder of Thomas Becket in
Canterbury Cathedral” are both
dramatic paintings representing
the tragic culmination of political
power struggles. To
complement their exhibition,
Beaney's Front Room will be
displaying selected 2D artwork
by talented Kent-based artists
that have used similar themes
of struggle and conflict in their
work. One of the featured
artists is the talented Janet
Darley, of whom will include
two abstract collages in the
exhibition, each of which reflect the emotions experienced by her parents
during World War II.
