town's Mela Festival is a multi-cultural

held in Calverley Grounds, festival-goers were
able to sample the sounds and tastes of Asia,
Africa, the Caribbean and Europe in an exotic
food zone.
Festive Skating – In what will be its third
successive year, the open-air ice rink will return
to the natural amphitheatre in Calverley Grounds
from 22nd November – 5th January 2014. As
well as fun on the ice, visitors can indulge in a
hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine.

Love Is Boutique, Church Rd
did you know?
The first motor show in Britain (and possibly
the world) was held on 15th October 1895
in Tunbridge Wells. Organised by the local
mayor, the event took place on the
Agricultural Showground with a total of five
vehicles.
The name Tunbridge Wells derives from the
nearby town of Tonbridge, which was once
spelt 'Tunbridge'. The two similar names
have always remained a source of confusion.
Local & Live Music Festival — The ever-popular
annual music festival, Local & Live celebrated its
eighth musical gala on the Pantiles this August.
Organised by local musician Paul Dunton, this
year's festival boasted a bandstand, acoustic
stage, hundreds of original performers and twoday electric after-parties.
Unfest Music Festival — Unfest is a free and
independent music and arts festival, driven by
local venue, The Forum. In the two years since
it was formed, it has become town-wide,
showcasing numerous events in a variety of
