EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH Kent College Pembury The leading HMC independent day and boarding school for girls nurtures each student, by finding the abilities in each girl and cultivating them. This is achieved through an excellent academic and pastoral programme that focuses on meeting the individual needs of every girl. Kent College’s 2013 A-level results demonstrate a successful academic approach, with an outstanding 100% pass rate. 36% of A* - A grades were gained at A-level, and following the analysis of the school’s value-added data and baseline predictions, Kent College has demonstrated its ability to double the chance of getting an A at A-level. Recent academic developments and the school’s unrivalled ability to nurture its students potential has also produced the best AS results in the school’s history, with 72% of students gaining A and B grades. Over half of our students have now taken up their ?rst choice university place into Russell Group Universities and other highly competitive courses. These results are testament to the hard work of the students and staff at Kent College, as well as to the school's academic development, which builds all-round con?dence and ensures that all of the girls continue to surpass their expectations. "Our 2013 A-level results, and especially the extraordinary value-added and progress made by individuals, are evidence of our success. Both the girls and their teachers go the extra mile in every sense. This year, particular mention must go to our English department with 45% of all grades at A*" says headmistress, Sally-Anne Huang. Michaela Morgan, who achieved three A*s in English literature, Latin and history and who will take a gap year before starting her Classics degree at Cambridge University, commented, “I can’t describe how relieved I am, I couldn’t have asked for more. It’s so overwhelming to get these grades and I would like to thank my teachers for all of their support. At KC, they really focus on our individual needs. These results really are the best end to my KC career.” Upcoming open mornings: Saturday 5th and Tuesday 8th October 2013. www.kent-college.co.uk / 01892 820218 www.insidekentmagazine.co.uk 43
