At Old Dairy Brewery , we love this time of year . We are now just approaching the end of the hop harvest and Kent is world famous for its hops . We are busy brewing green hop beers which is something of a Kent tradition and involves using hops straight from the bines without drying them . The hops are sticky and full of resins , this gives a unique flavour to the beer that we can only get at this time of year .
The other reason we love the winter months is because we can start to brew our darker beers . We have to hold off of these through the warmer months as people move to pale ales but now we can start to bring them back . Over the years we have won some incredible national awards for our darker beers including Champion Winter Beer of Britain and a silver in overall Champion Beer of Britain for our
Snow Top and Best Bottle / Canned Beer in the UK for our Dark Side of the Moo !
We opened our taproom at the brewery in Tenterden in March this year , and sadly we had to close it almost straight away due to COVID- 19 . However , we are now open again on Friday 5-10:30pm , Saturday 12- 10:30pm and Sunday 10-4pm . We have plenty of outdoor and indoor space to allow for social distancing .
Our shop is also open daily so that you can come in and buy those all important beers for home and of course Christmas gifts .
