Treat Trunk , the healthy snack subscription , is the brainchild of Sally Wade who set up the business in 2018 after having several disappointing experiences with other healthy food subscription services . That last unsatisfying bite was the final straw and so she resolved to fill the hole in the market and start developing her own tasty , yet healthy , treats . ‘ I realised I had a better selection in our own family snack basket and so the idea began to form that I could create the boxes I wished I ’ d received . We pride ourselves in having great variety , brands you ’ ve never heard of before and exciting snack options that help people to feel like they don ’ t have to miss out .’ A huge supporter of small businesses herself , Sally seeks out ethical , small brands that are pretty unknown and helps popularise them to her large market of supporters . Unlike other businesses , Treat Trunk actually grew in the strange days of UK lockdown , as people desperately searched for a healthy snack service that could be delivered straight to their door . In fact , Sally got so busy with both new and returning customers , that she had to enlist the help of her husband to keep up with the elevated demand . On the subject of starting a business , she says : ‘ starting a business was a lot harder than I thought - it is very time consuming , often for little visible reward at the start , but if you are passionate about the product or service you offer and you keep going even through the tough times , things will start to get easier .’

After a near death experience in 2016 , and enduring a chronic illness , Jane Denham decided to grab life by the horns and not let go .
