Sweet Enchanted was born out of owner Jo Allaway ’ s childhood love of baking , but it was a trip to the Big Apple , and a visit to a certain well known bakery , that sparked her decision to take the leap and set up her own cookie shop right here in Kent . Providing wonderfully whimsical iced cookies for all occasions , Sweet Enchanted has become a go-to brand for scrumptious treats that not only taste incredible , but are also a delight to look at . Made for weddings , birthdays , hen parties , and of course , the classic holiday cookies , Sweet Enchanted has been going from strength to strength , and has even baked for royalty ! When asked what advice Jo would give to others looking to make their passion into a business , she said : ‘ starting a small business is never easy , it takes a lot of time , hard work and creating something extra special for your target market , while also providing a 5 * service and creating something special for your customers . My best advice to anyone starting a small business in Kent is to keep creating new and unique ideas that your market will want and love .’

Broadstairs based Plantlet was opened by Izzi Brown and her mum in May of last year ; since then the thriving small business has survived a pandemic and its interior has become more akin to a very stylish jungle than a shop , with green and white walls and sparkling fairy lights surrounded by hundreds - if not thousands - of plants , botanical themed gifts and home decor .
While a green thumb obviously runs in the family , with both mother and daughter having an affinity for plants from a young age , Izzi ’ s love of plants dramatically grew at university ; as did her own personal collection . As she puts it : ‘ once you ’ re hooked on houseplants , there ’ s no going back !’ In terms of advice for potential small business owners , she comments : ‘ do something that you ’ re passionate about and that makes you truly happy , listen and always evolve .’ Find Plantlet on Broadstairs High Street .

Any lover of autumn will know that the UK ’ s selection of cosy jumpers and adorable autumnal homeware and accessories pales in comparison to those on offer across the pond . Luckily , influencer Liv Goodman has created the O . G Collection so all of us ‘ Fall ’ fans in little ol ’ England can shop until our heart ’ s content . She explains ; ‘ as a massive lover of autumn and decorating my house with pumpkins and fall scented candles each September , I had the idea to start my new business , O . G Collection . I wanted to bring a creative selection of autumnal products you just can ' t find in the UK , heavily inspired by the amazing selection in the US .’ The O . G . Collection stocks beautifully autumnal prints , as well as pumpkin themed jewellery and embroidered sweatshirts in a range of fall colours , and although the online shop is still in its infancy , it is already proving itself as a thriving business thanks to Liv ’ s hardearned online following .
