BACKTOBUSINESS
WELCOME BACK KENT CONT.
The family-run electrical business NMCO Electrical,
based in West Malling, has a fantastic reputation within
the community. All work being guaranteed for five years
makes this a true 5-star business, and it is clear from
their reviews how first class their services are. Customer
satisfaction is number 1 on their list of priorities, and
their years of experience allow them to get any job done
in a timely manner, while offering expert advice, fair
prices, and even a free ‘no obligation quotation’ service,
that allows customers to compare prices and get the
best deal possible. As health and safety for both clients
and staff is of top priority at NMCO Electrical, it is no
surprise that they have taken the dangers of Covid-19
extremely seriously and have put in place extensive
measures to keep everyone as safe as possible. This
includes full PPE for all staff including; disposable gloves,
full face masks/disposable surgeons masks, disposable
overshoes, and the constant use of hand sanitiser. Social
distancing measures are also in place, including working
in separate rooms to clients as much as possible and the
cleaning of all areas that have been touched with
antibacterial wipes. All staff have their temperatures
checked before entering client homes, and the company
is always making sure they are on top of symptom
checking both employees and customers for the virus
before any physical interaction is made. Everyone at
NMCO Electrical is looking forward to welcoming back
clients, both new and old, staying safe and alert and
getting back to ‘normality’ as much as possible.

Lotty’s Flowers takes a form of pure natural beauty
that can only be seen in the most whimsical of bouquet
arrangements. They have unique flowers for every
occasion; pretty pastel coloured wedding arrangements;
rainbow-hued blooms to fill your living room with a
kaleidoscope of colours; and fun, quirky, houseplants
that you can desperately try to keep alive in the crazy
English weather. This independently-owned flower shop,
based in Faversham, only sells locally grown flowers
that are sourced from local suppliers, and Lotty - the
owner of the florist - has made it her business’ mission
to be as plastic-free and eco-friendly as possible. Recycled
rose stems are used in place of plastic pics for flower
cards and, more often than not, biodegradable paper
is used instead of cellophane, and when cellophane is
unavoidable, Lotty’s makes sure it is biodegradable.
Flowers are tied with raffia or string, and everything
that can be composted or recycled is done so religiously,
every week. During the pandemic, Lotty’s have made
a concerted effort to be as available, customer friendly
and safe as can be. They have been operating a click
and collect service and are encouraging orders by phone
to avoid unnecessary contact. Since they re-opened they
are also partaking in contactless deliveries, which includes
placing deliveries in a safe place and ensuring social
distancing rules are adhered to by both delivery drivers
and customers. Charlotte ‘Lotty’ Couchman explains
“It’s been a hard couple of months but I’ve managed
to carry on. The delivery process was standing well back
(over two metres) knocking the door with my elbow
where possible or gloves and only accepting online or
phone orders. Now that customers can come back into
the shop, they are asked to use hand gel and there’s a
large screen to protect my staff and customers. During
lockdown we offered local free delivery, which we have
never done before, on local flowers, which we will
continue to do. Lockdown has been hard because I love
talking face to face with customers, and this is really
needed for funeral orders, but we have adapted and
look forward to welcoming back more customers soon.”
