CAVE HOTEL
CANOE WILD
Mix it up this summer with our updated list of wacky,
once in a lifetime elemental experiences, that you
and your loved ones can enjoy. Want to get down
and dirty in the Earth; keen to feel the Air in your
hair; fancy yourself as a Fire starter, or are you a
Water baby, dying to jump on the next boat you
see? Lucky for you it doesn’t matter, there is
something here for everyone, whether you're an
adrenaline junkie, or a classy foodie, this feature will
provide you with your nature-inspired bucket list
for summer 2020!
Fire
We have chosen a truly unique fire-inspired dining
experience in our little county of Kent. Far removed
from the traditional pubs that line our shores and
high streets, the Firepit restaurant at the Cave Hotel
(www.cavehotels.com/firepit) is a one of a kind, high
class, food-lovers experience. With a sensual, earthy
atmosphere, that lends itself to intimate dinners over
a bottle of bubbly, this is the perfect place for a
romantic date night, or a cosy dinner with your
closest friends. The contemporary, yet indulgent
sharing menu takes its inspiration from all over the
world, with fusion foods as far afield as the deserts
of western USA and the sandy beaches of Asia. Truly
an ambitious and exciting night out, there are dishes
that will make you long for destinations you’ve never
been to, and bites that will remind you of home; a
true testament to executive chef John Bingley’s
abilities. There is an extensive wine menu, that can
be paired with all the sharing plates, that ranges
from light and crisp to deep and fruity. The menu
changes seasonally, and all ingredients are sourced
locally from butchers, cheese makers and vegetable
growers in and around Kent. There is also a separate
bar that can be reached by a glass bridge, stocked
to the brim with top-shelf spirits from all over the
world. Taste-bud tingling cocktails such as the Honey
Bee Espresso Martini, or an Orange Old Fashioned,
will leave you savouring every last decadent sip.
However you choose to quench your thirst, and stifle
your hunger, the world of food and drink is truly
your oyster at the Firepit.
Water
Even now we are slowly moving back to normality,
it is easy to feel stifled, cooped up and a little isolated
from the rest of the world. Plastic partitions being
erected in pubs and restaurants, and being kept a
safe distance from everyone not in your immediate
circle can feel incredibly lonely. But don’t you worry,
we’ve got the cure for your melancholy blues with
our water element activity; Canoe Wild,
(www.canoewild.co.uk). Get off the beaten track with
an adventurous and leisurely paddle down the River
Stour, and allow yourself to get immersed in the
