EDUCATION
BISHOP CHALLONER SCHOOL:
HEADTEACHER PROFILE
WORDS BY HEADTEACHER, PAULA ANDERSON BSC (HONS) MBA PGCE
BISHOP CHALLONER IS A SELECTIVE CATHOLIC
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL BASED IN SHORTLANDS.
WE EDUCATE GIRLS AND BOYS FROM AGE THREE
TO EIGHTEEN YEARS.
As headteacher, I ensure that I make time to listen to the pupils at Bishop
Challoner and meet with all year groups regularly. I am keen to learn all
about their interests, their likes and dislikes, and what makes them buzz. It
is extremely important to me to meet the pupils in small groups over the
course of each year. Since I interview all the senior and sixth form entrants,
I am already aware of their interests when they join us. I also enjoy meeting
pupils on a Monday morning for commendations to reward extremely good
work and effort.
During their time with us, we give the pupils every opportunity to develop
into well balanced and rounded individuals through our broad curriculum
and extracurricular provision, as well as through leadership opportunities
and excellent pastoral care. These areas of development allow pupils to grow
in confidence. We are ambitious for every pupil and we want them to have
the motivation and desire to be ambitious for themselves, following our
school motto: ‘Dare to do your best’. We want our pupils to leave
Bishop Challoner as confident and responsible individuals with a lifelong
love of learning.
I look forward to meeting you at our open morning on Saturday 29th
September 2018, 9am-1pm. Please register your interest by emailing
[email protected].
