Date Night 4...
A romantic walk in the park, hand in hand,
can be the perfect way to start your date. There
are some amazing parks in Kent, including
the beautiful Wye National Nature Reserve.
Once there you’ll find a huge amount of
different species of wildlife such as insects
and moths, plus there are some special orchids
which are being conserved for the nation at
Wye. You’ll come across sheep and cows if
you walk along the slopes, and the views are
phenomenal. Peckish? Make your way
through the Devil’s Kneading Trough – a valley
that cuts right down the middle of the North
Downs – and you’ll come across a café that
offers lovely cream teas.
After all that activity, does a bit of a pamper at
a spa sound good? At Eastwell Manor you can
do just that in their Champneys health spa.
The spa evenings on offer there mean that
you can arrive at 4pm and have a full three
hours of pampering as a couple; you’ll feel
rejuvenated, relaxed and very loved up. There
is a swimming pool, sauna, steam room,
Jacuzzi and a gym that can all be used
throughout the evening, plus you can book
accompanying treatments such as a massage,
facial or acupuncture.
Just a few miles away from Eastwell Manor is
the Kent Cookery School, and if either you
or your partner (or both) could do with some
pointers in the kitchen, the couples’ cookery
evenings on offer here might be just what
you’re looking for. The course will give you a
chance to create a delicious main course and
a dessert, and you can really get hands-on in
the kitchen under the professional eye of your
tutor. The skills you learn during this couples’
cookery evening will be ones that you can
easily transfer to your own kitchen at home,
so you’ll hopefully end up cooking up a storm
together on a more regular basis.
Still hungry? Well, if you are then you’ll be
pleased to know there are a variety of excellent
places to eat in the area, including the
romantic Amici in Ashford. This family run
restaurant is Italian, serving authentic
homemade food that’s been created using
locally sourced ingredients where possible.
The atmosphere here is relaxed and intimate,
and ideal for a date night meal in comfortable,
friendly surroundings with amazing food.
