PENSHURST PLACE TEAMS UP WITH COUNTRYBIKE TO OFFER AFFORDABLE BIKE HIRE
Visitors to Penshurst Place will soon be able to explore the surrounding Tudor estate by pedal power , thanks to the launch of an innovative new cycle scheme . Countrybike is the brainchild of Tim and Suzy Seddon from Fordcombe , and is set to see rental bikes placed at key locations across Kent and East Sussex .
Tim Seddon , explained : “ Not everyone owns a bicycle and those that do can sometimes find transporting it difficult . With Countrybike , we are able offer bikes sited at beautiful locations , so more people can get out there to enjoy our wonderful countryside .”
Six bikes are available to hire at Penshurst Place . They are all 21-speed Dawes bikes with hybrid aluminium frames and they ’ ll be maintained by a qualified bike mechanic . Hiring a bicycle will be easy – customers will just need to download an app onto their phone , register their details and type in the unique code found on the bike . LOCAL TEEN PROMOTES CHARITY CAMPAIGN OF NEW HOLLYWOOD FILM
A Gravesend teenager is pictured on the packs of limited edition movie memorabilia , created to coincide with the forthcoming release of Sherlock Gnomes , an animated children ’ s inspired by the wellknown fictitious detective .
Cameron Edmonds , who has Duchene Muscular Dystrophy , a degenerative muscle disorder , is photographed on the back of each pack , which contains a heartshaped pin with two gnomes – Sherlock Gnomes and his assistant , Gnome Watson .
The lucky 18-year-old , who lives in Gravesend ’ s Dorset Crescent , got his ‘ 15 minutes of fame ’ thanks to Variety , the children ’ s charity , that improves the lives of young people in the UK , who are sick , disabled or disadvantaged .
Variety has created the Sherlock Gnomes pins as part of its annual Variety Gold Hearts campaign that has been running since 1991 . Proceeds from the eye-catching pins will benefit Variety programmes which provide life-changing and life-enriching equipment as well as memorable experiences to children and young people who are disadvantaged by poor health , disability or poverty .
MAN OF KENT APPOINTED HEAD CHEF AT HOTEL DU VIN
Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is delighted to announce the appointment of an experienced , local chef taking over to lead the kitchen team . James Sherwin , who is Kent born and bred , has 18 years ’ experience at award-winning and AA-Rosette restaurants across the county .
