BEWL WATER
BEWL WATER, AN AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY LOCATED IN THE HEART
OF THE HIGH WEALD, AND HOME TO THE LARGEST STRETCH OF INLAND WATER IN THE
SOUTH EAST. RUSTIC WOODLAND TRAILS, EXCITING CYCLE AND FOOTPATHS AND AN
ARRAY OF NATURAL WILDLIFE SURROUND THE WATER’S EDGE – THERE IS SOMETHING
FOR EVERYONE AT BEWL WATER AND MARCH MARKS THE START OF THE NEW FISHING
SEASON, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER FUN ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.
Activities include cycling or walking around
the reservoir, so that you can take in all of
the impressive views which surround you,
and, if you feel up to the challenge, you can
hike or cycle the whole 12.5-mile route. There
are lots of exciting nature trails to explore
too, along which you can spot some of the
nature and wildlife at Bewl Water. At this
time of year, you can spot blankets of bluebells,
an emones and wild garlic throughout
the spring!
Alongside these activities, there is plenty to
do out on the water including sailing, fishing
and pedalo hire (weather dependent), or for a
more relaxing experience, the Bewl Belle offers
boat trips around the reservoir so you can sit
back, relax and take in the panoramic views.
Keep little ones entertained with the nine-
hole mini golf, or the adventure playground
which is fully equipped with plenty of fun
climbing frames. There is also the brand new
soft-play area located in The Waterfront Café,
which is the perfect play area for younger
ones. For those who are a little older, try out
the Laser Challenge, which guarantees an
adrenaline-filled contest as you hide out and
camouflage yourself throughout the dens and
bunkers in the woods.

which provides a selection of refreshments,
cream teas and hot drinks for you to enjoy, or
for something a little more substantial make
sure to head over to The Boat House Bistro.
The Boat House Bistro is perched on the
water’s edge and serves a weekly changing
market menu with the freshest ingredients
including trout caught from Bewl Water itself.
Every Friday lunchtime you can enjoy a
delicious fish & chip lunch for just £8.95, on
Saturdays there is a light bite menu with lots
of hearty meals including homemade burgers
and locally sourced ploughman’s. Every
Saturday and Sunday you can also enjoy a
three-course meal from the à la carte menu
with friends and family – the perfect way to
finish a walk around Bewl Water.

Mother’s Day – Sunday 11th March
Celebrate Mother’s Day by the water.
What could be more special than enjoying a
delicious 3 course lunch at the stunning
restaurant, The Boat House Bistro, whilst
admiring the breathtaking views across the
reservoir? There is a special gift for every
Mother who dines on Mothering Sunday.
If you are after a leisurely springtime walk,
every mother gets a complimentary trip on
the Bewl Belle so you can explore Bewl Water
whilst out on the reservoir. Refuel afterwards
in the Boat House Bistro or a delicious
homemade cream tea in The Waterfront Café.
Bewl’s Big Dog Day Out

A fun filled day out for all the family, especially
your four-legged companions! The team at
Bewl Water has joined forces with eco-friendly
pet food and accessory company, Beco Pets
to give you a full day of activities around the
beautiful reservoir. The day includes a treasure
trail, a dog agility course, dog groomers,
trainers and nutritionists plus face painting,
mini golf and much much more!
