EVENTS ‘PAY WHAT YOU DECIDE’ AT FOLKESTONE QUARTERHOUSE ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• FOLKESTONE QUARTERHO USE ARE GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO SEE THREE AMAZING THEATRE SHOWS AND YOU CAN PAY WHAT YOU DECIDE EACH SHOW WAS WORTH AT THE END OF THE PERFORMANCE, OR PAY NOTHING AT ALL! 600 People © Ed Collier Kieran Hurley The Futures: Utopia / Dystopia season welcomes three amazing productions that explore our possible futures. From the apocalypse to time travel, these three shows will have you on the edge of your seat and dive you into the fountain of cosmic knowledge. Pay What You Decide (PWYD) is a great way to see theatre, whether you are a regular or just testing the water. Quarterhouse want to encourage more people to see exciting new work, and PWYD not only allows you to pay what you can afford, but also removes the financial risk of paying for a show in advance, when you’re not sure how much you will enjoy it. So how does it work? Tickets can be booked in advance for free and after the end of the show you will be invited to pay what you think the show was worth based on your experience. There is no minimum or maximum charge, so if you haven’t enjoyed it at all, you don’t We Can Time Travel have to pay anything. If you loved it, you can pay as much as you like. All of the money collected after each show will help Quarterhouse pay the visiting artists, so if you enjoyed the show then please give generously. The first show of the series is Heads Up on Thursday 1st March at 7.30pm and comes from multi-award-winning writer and performer, Kieran Hurley. Hurley weaves a tale of a familiar city at its moment of destruction, asking what we would do if we found ourselves at the end of the world. Gripping, intense and performed with razor-sharp precision, Heads Up is a unique and thrilling experience. Prepare to reassess reality with Quarterhouse’s second PWYD show, 600 People, on Friday 23rd March at 7.30pm. Somewhere between stand-up and an astrophysics lecture, 600 People explores how we think about evolution and intelligence, belief and invention, communication and space travel. It’s a show that explores the stories we tell in order to understand our place in the cosmos. For their third and final event, Quarterhouse present multi-award-winning musician and theatre-maker, Dom Coyote with We Can Time Travel, on Friday 20th April at 7.30pm. Join Dom for an experiment in ‘Harmonic Time Theory’ to prove, once and for all, that time travel is real. Jump into his world of analogue synths, cassette tapes, live looping, epic storytelling and roaring songs to raise a rallying cry for the present and change the course of time. PWYD tickets are available for all three performances now. There are no hidden fees and no catches, just book your free tickets in advance and after the show you can Pay What You Decide.
