EDUCATION
SUTTON VALENCE:
ONE SCHOOL, MANY JOURNEYS
NO TWO CHILDREN ARE EXACTLY ALIKE; THEY ALL HAVE THEIR INDIVIDUAL
TALENTS, LIKES AND DISLIKES. SUTTON VALENCE SCHOOL RECOGNISES THIS
AND, FROM NURSERY TO UPPER SIXTH, OFFERS AN ALMOST BESPOKE JOURNEY
FOR EACH CHILD, BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.
Through the high expectations
and standards we set, all our
young people are encouraged
and supported to go further than
they had thought possible in their
academic, co-curricular,
community and leadership
journeys. We want them to
become confident, civilised,
tolerant and open-minded
individuals who possess a love
of learning and a strong sense of
self-discipline.
Academic attainment is
important – in 2017, Sutton
Valence School celebrated its best
ever GCSE results with 45 per
cent of all grades at A*-A, and at
A level, 14.2 per cent of results
were the coveted A* grade – but,
this is only one part of what
makes a child successful in life.
By the time they finish their time
at Sutton Valence, each pupil will
have taken a slightly different
journey, but our ultimate
destination for all is the same:
that they will work hard to fulfil
their true potential and add value
to their lives.
Our greatest strength is our
community; the relationships
enjoyed between staff, pupils and
parents are exemplary. The
Sutton Valence House system, at
both the Preparatory and Senior
Schools, fosters the school’s
family atmosphere. Friendly
rivalry in inter-house
competitions, which may be
sporting, cultural, academic or
just good fun, offer opportunities
for every child to contribute and
be applauded for their efforts.
When a child feels supported, cared for and recognised for what they
are, then they feel comfortable to push themselves beyond their comfort
zone to discover the limits of their ability.
