138 BROADSTAIRS DICKENS FESTIVAL
// 14-15 JUNE
Charles Dickens was a regular visitor to
Broadstairs between 1837 and 1859, so it’s only
right that there should be a fabulously fun
festival in his honour. It takes place each June
and involves costumes, plays and reading of
his most famous works.

produce it can grow – hops being perhaps
the most famous produce of all. It only seems
right that we should celebrate this fact and
that is what the Faversham Hop Festival is all
about. Here you can join in the tradition of
hand picking hops, eating great street food
and hearing live music all day long.
