NATIONAL TRUST SUMMER OUTDOOR PERFORMANCES

With four months of performances lined up throughout the summer,
make the most of the glorious weather and extra hours of daylight to
enjoy alfresco entertainment at National Trust properties in Kent. Pack
a picnic and bring along your family and friends to the theatre, outdoor
cinema and music events, set in colourful gardens and picturesque
surroundings. From family favourites like The Railway Children, Dr
Dolittle and Peter Pan to classics such as The Tempest, A Midsummer
Night’s Dream and Pride and Prejudice, there’s a wide range of
productions to choose from. Just pick your spot in a unique setting,

SEAL SAFARIS // JUNE – SEP
FISH & CHIP SUPPERS AT SPA VALLEY RAILWAY // FROM 8 JUNE
The Spa Valley Railway are operating their first Fish and Chip Train on
a Friday Evening starting on Friday 8th June 2018. Join the train from
18:45 at Tunbridge Wells West before it sets off at 19:00 for Groombridge.
The train will complete two return journeys and while on board
passengers can enjoy a freshly prepared fish and chip supper followed
by an ice cream dessert. Trains will return to Tunbridge Wells West for
approximately 21.15. The train bar car 'Kate' will be open throughout
the evening selling a large range of real ales, cider, wines (including
sparkling!) and also hot and cold soft drinks.

KENT COUNTY SHOW // 6-8 JULY
Take a guided tour of Kent’s sea kayaking trail through Pegwell Bay
Nature Reserve to see the local seal colony and other wildlife. Suitable
for all abilities including beginners, adults only. Starting in Ramsgate.

19th August, 24th August, 1st September.

The 89th Kent County Show
will be held on 6th, 7th and 8th
July 2018. Organisers, the Kent
County Agricultural Society,
are looking forward to
welcoming some specials
guests to the show. The main
ring attraction will be the
stunning Household Cavalry
Musical Ride who will perform
twice a day, every day in the
Astor Ring. Joining the
Household Cavalry will be the
‘Every One Remembered’
sculpture. Designed by award-
winning artist Mark
Humphrey and features the ‘Centenary Soldier’ standing on a plinth of
limestone sourced from the Somme, finished in bombshell brass and
joined by thousands of poppies dedicated by the public which flutter
around the soldier. The traditional livestock judging, show jumping,
birds of prey demonstrations, flower show, vintage vehicles and antiques
area will all be featured, alongside the exciting UK Pole Climbing
Championships and delicious food halls.
