LITTLE GARDENS OF SANDWICH // 3 JUN
The gardens at St Peter ’ s Church and the Sandwich Library will be open for the first time alongside some of the most magical gardens in the centre of town at the annual Little Gardens of Sandwich . A real treat is in store for garden lovers this year as they will have the chance of a private peek at six very different gardens set behind ancient medieval walls in the centre of Sandwich and then wander along to St Mary ’ s Arts Centre for a delicious cream tea . After a restorative cup of tea , visitors can take a look at a number of plant stalls set up by local specialist nurseries that will be imparting their plant knowledge and selling a wide variety of perennials , annuals , shrubs and herbs , before trying their luck in the charity raffle for the chance to win an array of gardenthemed prizes .

OPEN FARM SUNDAY AT BORE PLACE // 10 JUN

This all-day event is in aid of Kent , Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust , who provide helicopter emergency medical services and air ambulance services to sick and injured people across South East England . All stallholders ’ fees and any money raised on the day will go to this great cause . Biddenden ’ s food day showcases a range of great produce that the county has to offer . Visitors will have the opportunity to meet , taste and buy from a wide variety of Kentish producers specialising in cheeses , preserves , sauces and chutneys , pies , fudges , beers and liqueurs , honey , ice cream , wool , crisps , meat , game and much more . With over 40 stalls to browse , there is something for everyone .

Come to Open Farm Sunday at Bore Place for family friendly tours of the organic farm and market garden – including an opportunity to see the cows being milked , tractor rides , an opportunity to meet the onsite cheesemakers using milk from the Bore Place cows , walks , face painting , a delicious organic BBQ , as well as an ice cream stall and Pimms bar . There is no need to book , just turn up on the day . There is plenty of free parking on site . Open Farm Sunday is a nationwide initiative encouraging people to visit their local farm and find out more about farming and where food comes from .

Join Solley ’ s Ice Cream Parlour to find out more about the family farm for their second Open Farm Sunday . They are planning to run tours of the dairy to show how the ice cream is made , as well as a tour demonstrating the crops that they grow , explaining what they do , why they do it and where the finished crop goes . In addition , they will have tractor rides around their new nature trail and , as if that isn ' t enough , a local bird expert will be joining them with his birds of prey and will be doing flight demonstrations .
