TONBRIDGE ART FAIR // 2 JUN
June is going to be an exciting month in Tonbridge for art lovers . The first ever Tonbridge Art Fair is coming to the newly refurbished River Walk on Saturday 2nd June from 10am-6pm . There will be paintings , drawings , sculpture , jewellery , glass , ceramics and more on show from many artists , some local and some not so local , with demonstrations and a chance to chat with the artists themselves . Visitors will also have the opportunity to have their portrait drawn by caricaturist Paul Gurney , so you could say it will be reminiscent of being in Montmartre or on the Left Bank in Paris ! The fair is free to visitors and promises an enjoyable day out by the River Medway .

CROWHURST ARTS IN THE GARDEN // 2-3 JUN
The garden records at Penshurst Place date back to 1346 , with some areas in the existing garden rooms having been laid out in Elizabethan times . Early June is when the gardens are generally at their most beautiful with stunning displays of colour and heavenly scent to enjoy . From the 100-metre long peony border complete with four varieties of double-pink peonies , the vibrant blue and yellow beds with the specially cultivated Penshurst Blue and Penshurst Yellow iris , and early double herbaceous display of warm to cold colours in the Jubilee Walk , the gardens will be ablaze with colour and interest . As well as exploring the 11 acres of formal gardens , visitors can make the most of the new woodland trail and enjoy watching artists at work as Crowborough Arts Society will be painting in the gardens over the weekend .
