VIC REEVES AND NANCY SORRELL STAGE SPECIAL PHOTOSHOOT FOR LONDON FASHION WEEK EVENT
PRESTIGIOUS BAND JOINS LINE UP FOR THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEEDS CASTLE CLASSICAL CONCERT
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Leeds Castle Classical Concert , The Band of the Grenadier Guards will join the prestigious line up on Saturday 14th July .
The Band of the Grenadier Guards has been filling the streets of London with music and colour for over three centuries , and this year they bring their truly historic sounds and sights to Leeds Castle in Kent . The band will be marching down from Leeds Castle ’ s Fairfax Hall in full guard regalia to their famous Grenadier Guard Band marches which will provide a wonderful spectacle .
Since the 17th century , the music of the Band of the Grenadier Guards has been the backdrop to national life and the modern day band and its musicians proudly continue in this tradition . Much of the work the band carries out is providing musical support to state and ceremonial events . Buckingham Palace , Windsor Castle and the Horseguard ’ s Parade continue to bear witness to musical excellence during the Changing of the Guard , Queen ’ s Birthday Parade , and the State Opening of Parliament to name just a few .
“ We are honoured to have such a special military band this year to help our 40th celebrations ,” Heritage Events , organisers of the concert , said . “ The Band of the Grenadier Guards will perform music to rouse the audience alongside the colour and tradition of this year ’ s summer concert .”
Actor , comedian and artist , Jim Moir / Vic Reeves is well-known for his acting and comic genius , but he ’ s also a very talented artist and photographer . Jim took a break from working in front of the camera to return behind the camera for a very special project – to photograph his wife , model Nancy Sorrell as she modelled a very unique piece by jewellery designer and fellow Kent resident , Justine Cullen .
Jim and Nancy ’ s editorial photoshoot may have taken place during a lovely Saturday afternoon in the couple ’ s kitchen here in Kent , but Justine Cullen ' s piece is lovingly named ‘ Midnight ’. The exquisite Midnight necklace is set in 18ct solid white gold , composed of 215 small brilliant cut white pave set diamonds , 21 black kite-shaped sapphires with a diamond-lined detachable tail and matching diamond and black sapphire earrings . Handcrafted in London , Midnight has a uniquely intricate pattern of continuous interlocking hand-cut geometric shapes , which took designer Justine Cullen a total of two years , from concept to design to complete .
“ Midnight is the most important piece I ' ve ever created and Nancy was the very first person I thought of to model this piece . She ’ s not only been an avid supporter of mine and a wonderful friend , but she ’ s a stunning beauty , whom I love using to model my pieces . I knew Jim had a very unique eye and could capture the beauty and elegance of both Midnight and of Nancy , and would give it that special editorial feeling I was seeking ,” said Justine .
