AN EXPLOSIVE HYBRID OF MUSIC, COMEDY AND THEATRICS AT
FOLKESTONE QUARTERHOUSE!
FOLLOWING ITS DEBUT PERFORMANCE AT MAYFEST, THE RAUCOUS
WE ARE LIGHTNING! COMES TO FOLKESTONE QUARTERHOUSE ON
FRIDAY 27TH AND SATURDAY 28TH JULY AT 7.30PM AND WHAT’S MORE,
IT’S PAY WHAT YOU DECIDE!
See Folkestone Quarterhouse brilliantly
transformed into a fictional music venue on
the brink of closure. Marking and protesting
its demise, prepare to be treated to a rollicking
musical ride as a teen band making their first
steps, a community choir and ageing rockers
combine forces with Joseph O’Farrell’s (JOF)
drums and Sam Halmarack’s guitar.
Seamlessly combining music and comedy,
acclaimed Australian artist JOF and Sam
Halmarack raise the roof as they merge
incredibly powerful theatre with the fist-
pumping rapture and power ballads of a
stadium gig for this extraordinarily joyous
production.

Leading you through a weird and wonderful
ceremony celebrating the all encompassing,
phenomenal power of music, We Are
Lightning! is a heartfelt celebration of the
transformative effect music has.
Demonstrating just how important music is
to shaping lives and saving souls, We Are
Lightning! proves that enthusiasm and
persistence always triumphs against the odds.
Featured in The Stage’s ‘Top 5 Theatre Shows
to See This Week’, We Are Lightning! is a darkly
comical production that reflects on the
importance of communal spaces where
people can come together and express
themselves. Highlighting this, the success of
the production relies on the talented and
passionate local singers and musicians who
have joined the unique production alongside
JOF and Sam, including beatboxers, a choir
and two heavy metal guitarists.
This crowd-pleasing hybrid of music, comedy
and theatre is certainly not to be missed! Book
your free ticket for We Are Lightning! at
Folkestone Quarterhouse on Friday 27th and
Saturday 28th July at 7.30pm now and pay
what you think the show was worth after the
performance.
