The Big O Vintage in Orpington is Kent ' s biggest and best vintage festival , created by Talking Box events . It ’ s a journey through time packed full of memories . The festival has dedicated decade zones from the 1940s and 50s to the 1960s , 70s and 80s with live bands , DJs , a great vintage market , classic cars ( pre-registered only ) and vintage scooters . Each zone features film and TV props as well as a great retro gaming tent and retro beauty parlour , with mouthwatering street foods and bars , a giant Ferris wheel and kids ’ rides .

As part of JAM on the Marsh festival , acclaimed Changeling Theatre bring an open-air performance of Noel Coward ’ s best loved comedy , Blithe Spirit . Celebrated novelist Charles Condomine invites local medium and eccentric , Madame Arcati , to hold a séance at his house , as research for his new book … but the scheme backfires ! Bring a chair / rug and watch this wonderful play under the vast Romney Marsh sky .

SUMMER PARTY AT CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL LODGE // 7 JUL
Canterbury Cathedral Lodge invites you to enjoy the spectacular backdrop of Canterbury Cathedral at their summer party on Saturday 7th July . On arrival guests will enjoy a glass of Pimm ’ s and canapés in the beautiful Campanile Garden overlooking the cathedral while being entertained by a solo singer . Guests will then make their way through to the splendid Clagett Auditorium for a three-course , sitdown dinner with coffee and mints . Afterwards , seven-piece local function band , The Soul Monkeys will entertain you throughout the evening . At 11pm there will be a disco until midnight .

Neptune will be two years old on 7th July ! They will be celebrating with a garden party theme , with bubbly , summer treats and birthday cake – of course ! – in their beautiful walled garden . On the afternoon of Sunday 8th July , local winery , Simpsons will be offering a tasting experience with a selection of their sparkling wines . There will be a prize draw and hopefully fantastic weather for everyone to come and admire the SS18 collections . Pop down and join the anniversary party .

KENT SUPERHERO RUN // 8 JUL
Local charities , the Kenward Trust and YouCan Youth Cancer Support have joined forces and are inviting people to take part in the first Kent Superhero Run . The 5km , and the under 11 ’ s 1.5km fun run will take place in the stunning setting of Kenward Trust ’ s headquarters in Yalding . Runners can dress up as any hero they like , or simply wear their mask in support of their own hero . All monies raised from the event will support Kenward Trust and YouCan Youth Cancer Support . YouCan offer support to young people , aged 10 to 30 throughout Kent whose lives have been impacted by cancer , offering counselling and therapeutic support as well as short breaks at Hinton House , a recently opened holiday home on the Kent coast , where young people and their families can spend some time away from the day to day stresses of living with cancer .
