When you are looking for a true challenge, there isn’t
much hotter (literally) than walking across 800-degree
red-hot wood embers, and that’s exactly what’s involved
in the Pilg rims Hospices’ fir ewalk. No pr evious
experience or training is needed as you’ll be given all
the information you need on the da y by firewalking
expert, Cliff Mann. A firewalk is a truly life-affirming
experience. Not only will you conquer the most primal
of fears, you’ll raise vital funds to support hospice care
too. And after all, if you can walk on fire, you can find
the confidence to do anything! 21 Together is hosting a black tie event to coincide with World Down’s
Syndrome Day to raise much-needed funds to support the vital work that
they do with the whole Down’s Syndrome community. Providing specialist
courses, awareness sessions, parent support, direct interventions with
children and young people relies on gaining as much additional support
as possible. This event promises to be a fun-filled night, a time to celebrate
the success of the last few years for the charity and everyone it has helped,
and 21 Together would be honoured if you could join them.
THE ONE WEEK WITHOUT CHALLENGE FOR PORCHLIGHT

ST PATRICK’S DAY SKYDIVE FOR THE CHILDREN’S
RESPITE TRUST
17th March
www.crtcharity.org
On Sunday 17th March 2019, supporters will don jump
suits and climb to 12,000 feet in an air craft over the
Kent countryside before taking the leap of a lifetime.
The jump in volves freefalling for around 30 to 40
seconds before the canopy opens. You will then spend
around five minutes enjoying the ride and the views
before landing back at Headcorn Airfield. It is a tandem
jump, so you would be strapped to a qualified instructor
and all tuition is given on the day.
Could you give up hot showers, cooked dinners or even a warm bed for
a week to raise money for people who are living on the streets? Homeless
charity Porchlight is asking people to do the ‘One Week Without’ sponsored
challenge. It involves putting yourself in the shoes of someone who is
homeless and giving up one or more home comforts for a week (Sunday
24th March – Sunday 31st March). All money raised goes towards helping
Porchlight which support homeless people in Kent.
