How can our readers become YouCan
volunteers or therapists? Do you have any fundraising events
coming up?
YouCan are always in need of volunteers
to help with the house, events, and in the
office, as well as trained therapists to provide
support to young adults through the
YouCan programme. Please contact
YouCan on 01732 844874, or email
[email protected] to find out more. We always have a lot of fun events lined
up. Our next takes place on 10th December.
It’s the London Pantomime Horse Race –
and it’s as wacky as it sounds and involves
people literally dressing up as panto horses
and running a race! The proceeds will come
to us. To register, or for more information,
please go to www.pantohorse.org.
What is a YouCan Ambassador?
What does the future hold for YouCan?
YouCan have Victoria Derbyshire and Dave
Berry who act as ambassadors for the
charity, promoting what the charity does
and raising awareness about young adults
and cancer. This is essential in getting the
charity’s name and work out to the wider
public, as without donations and help from
the people who give so much, we could
not continue. That’s why we are so grateful
to anyone who does choose to help us –
it’s not just us who they’re helping, it’s the
children and their families too and they are
the most important ones.
“If it wasn’t for YouCan and their amazing
staff I really don’t know where I would be
right now if I’m honest, which just goes to
show that charities like YouCan Youth
Cancer Support are invaluable for people
like me during remission!” – Harry
We want to continue working with hospitals
and hospices across the region to support
young people and their families. We aim
to grow to support everyone who needs us.
