CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL CHOIR
VOICE TRIALS 11TH NOVEMBER 2017
CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL CHOIR IS LOOKING TO AWARD SUBSTANTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO TALENTED
BOYS WHO WOULD LIKE TO JOIN IN SEPTEMBER 2018.
Auditions (also known as a voice trials) for
boys aged 7 and 8 will be held on 11th
November 2017, but parents are encouraged
to contact Cathedral Organist Dr David Flood
as soon as possible if they know their sons
enjoy singing and think they might be
interested.
Dr Flood said: “I would be delighted to meet
and advise parents at any convenient time. It
is not necessary to have had any musical
training at all, it’s just potential that I am keen
to see and hear. I can advise about how to
prepare for the audition and answer any
queries and give all sorts of information. Above
all, music-making in the Cathedral is fun and
the life of a chorister is a wonderful and unique
experience.”
25 choristers enjoy the facilities of St Edmund’s
School, Canterbury and receive very
substantial scholarships from the Cathedral.
The Cathedral Choir House has recently
enjoyed a £2 million renovation.
