SOUNDCRAFT HI-FI HAS ALWAYS BEEN A COMPANY BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF
TRUST BETWEEN CUSTOMERS AND STAFF. WHEN VICTOR MATHEWS STARTED THE
COMPANY MANY YEARS AGO, HIS AIM WAS ‘TO TREAT EVERY CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME
RESPECT, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH THEY ARE SPENDING’, AND THIS IS STILL VERY
MUCH THE ETHOS TO WHICH THE COMPANY CONTINUES TO RUN TODAY.
We have been a family business from the start
and continue to be today, sharing information
and providing the service that the business
was intended to do.
People buy from people, which in this online,
digital world is not easy – we regularly hear
stories about purchases that people wish they
had not made, which is not acceptable to us
because happy and satisfied is the minimum
we aim for.
I think this is probably the biggest reason that
Soundcraft Hi-Fi still continues to attract
business at the same premises in Ashford High
Street today.
We have been in the same building for over
70 years, with the same philosophy that it is
our job to show you what choices are available
and perhaps even show you something that
you didn’t know existed. There is only one
Soundcraft Hi-Fi and when it comes to
independent, impartial advice, there really is
no better way to find out everything you need
to know.
We have found that our customers have
enjoyed their journey to buying an
entertainment system, whether it be for music,
movies or both, and although we personally
like reading reviews on equipment, there is

one particular view which is the best to make
all of your decisions and that is you and your
personal choice.
You are absolutely, 100 per cent capable of
choosing what will suit you best. Everyone is
slightly different and has slightly different ideas
of what looks, sounds and performs well, so
we are here to present the options and show
you what is available therefore enabling you
to make an informed decision.
We are very passionate about providing not
just a service, but a ‘journey’ towards having
a system to really enjoy listening to or
watching. Why not bring the cinema into your
living room, or a concert performance to the
family in the comfort of your own home. The
most important thing to us is that customers
make their own choice and we hope you will
all enjoy making that choice with our
assistance.
Soundcraft Hi-Fi will not only be able to talk
and show you a product but also be able to
set it up and demonstrate it to you. We have
two demonstration rooms and these are both
natural reflections to home life.
This will always come as free service, though
the rooms do get booked regularly during the
week so it is always worth booking a time with
one of the members of staff.
Alternatively, we also promote home
demonstrations especially when you are
thinking about changing one piece of your
system. Home environments do change the
overall sound stage so this is an important
service which is also available to you.
At Soundcraft Hi-Fi, we believe people buy
from people and in this growing digital world
it makes sense to meet you, or at the least chat
on the phone. Whether it’s a Linn or Rega
turntable, a Meridian or Linn Active system,
or indeed a pair of speakers from Bowers and
Wilkins or PMC, we want you to see and
experience the product before you make your
final choice.
One last quote from my grandfather that I will
always remember is: “some things will change
dramatically Daniel, but some things won’t
change at all.”
